Shaker Square Area Development Corporation (SHAD) is pleased to host its first Green Expo. This event is the kickoff of the organization’s effort to focus on the development of model neighborhoods for green (energy efficient) design and sustainability.

With a national reputation as a walkable community with dynamic shopping areas on Larchmere Boulevard [one block north] and Shaker Square, the neighborhoods of Shaker Square provide the perfect location to promote healthy living and doing things in a more environmentally friendly way. In doing so, community residents can preserve important natural resources for future generations.

As the first of many events aimed at Greening the Neighborhoods of Shaker Square the THINK, BUY, and SAVE GREEN EXPO will be held at Shaker Square on Saturday April 26, 2008 from 8 am until 1 pm. The event will share space with the North Union Farmers Market. Afterwards the Larchmere Merchants Association will conduct “A Spring Clean Event” from 1 to 5 pm.
